I am drawn to discarded materials, throw-ways, and unnecessary one-use objects. Whether it’s
over-production or overindulgence, I observe waste every day, everywhere. These materials
and found objects reflect identities. A sheet of bubble wrap for shipping, rejected keys that no
longer have a door to open, clothing that doesn’t fit anymore, this stuff over-populates our lives.
Outwardly, we are experiencing global warming, toxic pollution, and extinction, to name a few. I
am striving for the exclusive use of materials and objects in my work that are discarded and
recyclable. In my endeavors, my work reflects human perspective and response.
