This piece is inspired by women’s role in environmental activism. Women like Vanessa Nakate,
a 23-year-old climate activist from Uganda who started her countries climate movement, the
women who protested at Standing Rock to protect indigenous rights as well as the environment,
and Greta Thunberg a 17-year-old climate activist from Sweden. Women are an essential part
of environmental justice and this piece is meant to celebrate that.
